Playa in the Grove 2016
As part of its ongoing 25th anniversary community celebrations, The National AIDS Memorial Grove is teaming up with Comfort & Joy to bring San Francisco an afternoon of art, music and picnicking fun. The Grove is the perfect setting for an afternoon devoted to community art and celebration that honors our past and envisions our future. Comfort and Joy is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote queer cultural expression. Active for over 15 years, Comfort and Joy has encouraged and sponsored Bay Area queer artists to bring forth their playful, provocative and creative pieces at Burning Man and in San Francisco.
Playa in the Grove will feature gorgeous interactive art by Bob Burnside, Chickpea, Steve Dudek, Frank Eddy, Neon, Noodles, Dev Ray, Bill Samios, Rob Vedar, and Jason Smart.
Delightful daytime dance music provided by DJs Bus Station John and Trever Pearson. Tarot Card Readings by Avis.
Playa in the Grove is FREE for all. We’ll be hosting a fabulous potluck, so bring your best casserole or covered dish.
